BTS member Jimin has secured another No. 1 on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart with his new single “Set Me Free Pt. 2.” According to Luminate, the track sold just over 62,500 copies, making it one of the few songs these days that has managed to achieve a sizable sales sum. With this latest winner, Jimin ties one of his bandmates for a special place in the history books.
“Set Me Free Pt. 2” is Jimin’s second solo No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart. With another champion to his name, he matches with his BTS bandmate Jung Kook for the most champions on the purchase-only ranking among South Korean solo musicians.
Jimin’s first No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart came to him in May 2022, as his collaborative tune “With You” featuring Ha Sung-woon rose to the peak position. Together, they managed to propel the song to the top spot on the sales-only ranking, thanks to their combined star power and musical talent.
Jung Kook also earned his first solo No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart in mid-2022, with his collaboration with Charlie Puth, “Left and Right.” The song was a sales winner and almost broke into the top 20 on the Hot 100 chart, thanks in part to its strong selling power.
Jung Kook doubled his total No. 1 count on the Digital Song Sales chart during one of the last tracking weeks of 2022 with his single “Dreamers,” which hit the summit in December 2022. That one was a solo smash, and it showed he was able to secure a huge win all on his own.
Of course, both Jimin and Jung Kook have also reached No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart as members of BTS. Throughout their years together, the band has accrued 11 chart-topping hits. However, with the septet currently on hiatus, the individual singers and rappers are proving that they can succeed on their own and continue to produce chart-topping hits.
