Polygon and Neowiz team up to launch Blockchain gaming platform Intella X.

South Korean online game publisher Neowizz becomes the latest gaming company to test Web3 waters as Polygon announces an upcoming collaboration between the two companies. Polygon made the revelation today in a tweet stating that the two companies have teamed up to launch Intella, a blockchain gaming platform.

Intella: The Gaming Platform

According to a post on Polygon’s website, games covered under Neowizz Intellectual Property (IP) will transition to Web3 games on Intella. Popular Neowizz games such as “Cats & Soup” and “Brave Nine” and social casino games such as House of Slots and House of Poker are expected to go live on the platform in 2023.  This also includes a new PFP NFT project titled “Early Retired Cats Club.”

The post also stated that the platform would stay true to the Web3 principle of revenue redistribution based on a develop and earn model. This means developers who contribute to the platform’s growth will be rewarded in the platform’s native token “IX.”

Likewise, projects built on the platform will be compensated in IX and have a cut of the revenue generated. As seen in most other Web3 games, players will also have an opportunity to earn IX and other tokens on the game, which they could later swap for IX.

In addition, an IX wallet will be created on the platform where players and developers can store the IX and tokens earned on Intella.

Polygon Web3 game partnership drive

This latest collaboration adds to a growing list of Web3 gaming projects between Polygon and prominent gaming developers and publishers. This includes existing partnerships with Atari, Ubisoft, Animoca, Wildcard, and Tilting point.

The Ethereum-hosted network, earlier on August 4, partnered with web3 games development studio Epic League, following the studio’s $100 million valuation. The partnership is expected to introduce some of the studio’s iconic games, such as Dark Throne, an action roleplaying game.

Also, Polygon recently partnered with Game Space in a move that Game Space hoped to use to bring more gamers to Web3 games.

However, Polygon web3 gaming history hasn’t been all rosy. As per a recent TheCryptoBasic post, the newly launched Polygon-based web3 game Dragoma project suffered a rug pull worth an estimated $3.5 million.
