Neowiz Partners Polygon to Launch Blockchain Gaming Platform

Polygon, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution, announced on Tuesday its partnership with South Korean gaming company Neowiz to launch a new blockchain-based gaming platform dubbed Intella X.

What is Intella X?

Like many other blockchain-based gaming platforms, Intella X is designed to generate income for its players, developers, and other contributors who support its growth. One way users get these revenues is when they stake or provide liquidity in the decentralized exchange (DEX) provided by the company.

Players on Intella X will be able to earn in-game rewards which can be swapped for the governance token of the platform, the IX token.

Polygon further noted in the announcement that developers will be able to benefit from Intella X’s “Develop and Earn” initiative, which allows game developers to receive rewards based on their contribution to the system.

“The projects that build and release on Intella X will be compensated in IX Token and with a cut of the platform’s revenue, including in-app purchases, relevant fees, and more. This system is known as “Develop and Earn.” [. . .] This allows developers to focus on what they do best without worrying about other factors to earn their shares of the monthly distributed rewards,” the report added.

Intella X is expected to be launched alongside a blockchain wallet dubbed IX Wallet, Polygon noted. While the wallet will be majorly game-focused, it will be designed to integrate access to other services like bridges, non-fungible token (NFT) launchpads, NFT marketplaces, DEXes, etc.

While no launch date for Intella X has been announced, Polygon mentioned that the gaming platform will expand its territory to other blockchain networks aside from the Polygon mainnet.

GameFi Adoption on the Rise

Following the rapid growth of top platforms in the game finance (GameFi) industry such as Axie Infinity, many more companies have begun to join the bandwagon.

Last week, the team behind the popular memecoin Shiba Inu revealed that it is working on a test for its blockchain game dubbed Shiba Eternity, after teasing the development of the game in late 2021.

An earlier report revealed that the Singapore-based blockchain company Zilliqa partnered with the blockchain gaming platform Alien World to bolster the adoption of blockchain games.
