zkSync Era users eagerly wait for news on airdrop as…

  • zkSync daily transactions crossed over 1 million.
  • Transaction per second also emerged top, with the testnet seeing more contract deployment.

Among Layer 2 (L2) solutions, zkSync Era has proven its mettle. Recent statistics showed an impressive volume of transactions and contracts deployed on the platform. However, behind this bustling activity lies a motivation driving most users to conduct transactions on the network relentlessly. The zkSync Era team has kept this reason under wraps for now, giving rise to more curiosity about what is yet to come.

zkSync transactions up a notch

In a recent post, zkSync Era shared a remarkable surge in daily transactions within its network. As of 23 July, daily transactions surpassed 1 million, showcasing the platform’s popularity. Even more impressive was the network’s remarkable transaction per second (TPS). It surpassed all others, including Ethereum, boasting a TPS over 12.

Delving further into the data presented by L2 Beats, it became evident that zkSync Era had been seeing volume over the last 30 days. As of this writing, over 25 million transactions have occurred on the platform. Furthermore, the explorer’s data showed that the network had processed over 69 million transactions.

zkSync Era users press for airdrop

As mesmerizing as the statistics from zkSync Era may be, it’s intriguing to observe that not all users share the same enthusiasm level. One key point of contention that emerged from the comments was the absence of airdrops by the network. Since its inception, users have been eagerly anticipating the possibility of receiving a rewarding airdrop, but alas, their hopes have yet to be fulfilled, leaving a sense of disappointment lingering in the air.

Adding fuel to this sentiment was the recent airdrop launch by Arbitrum, which couldn’t help but highlight the disparity. The comparison between the two networks’ approach to airdrops only further intensified users’ longing for a similar gesture from zkSync Era.

Unsettling murmurings arose among some users, suggesting that if an airdrop wasn’t announced soon, it might impact the overall transaction activity, causing a potential decline similar to the observed drop in Total Value Locked. This concern was a testament to users’ significance on value-added incentives such as airdrops, as they contribute to engagement and activity within the network.

Current TVL trend

According to data from L2 Beats, zkSync Era’s Total Value Locked (TVL) was around $473 million. However, a notable observation from the L2 Beats chart indicated a recent decline in the TVL. Over the past 24 hours, the TVL decreased by over 18%, signaling a shift in the network’s financial activity.

Amidst this decline, zkSync Era also witnessed positive developments within the same period. A recent post revealed that the number of contracts deployed on the zkSync testnet surpassed an astonishing 2500 in the past week. This deployment surge represents a staggering increase of over 2,500%, showcasing the platform’s growing adoption and utilization.

As we look ahead, the zkSync Era team’s intentions regarding an airdrop will likely come to light in the upcoming weeks or months. This decision will undoubtedly significantly impact key network metrics and user sentiment.
