Singapore-based layer 1 blockchain project Zilliqa has signed a partnership with the popular play-to-earn blockchain game Alien Worlds to promote the adoption of the blockchain gaming ecosystem.
Zilliqa Partners With Alien Worlds
According to the official announcement, the deal will see Alien World seek integration with the Zilliqa blockchain through its Unity Software Development Kit (SDK) that bridges the gap between game developers and the web3 technology.
The Unity SDK was launched earlier in May to accelerate the adoption of the Zilliqa blockchain by allowing games deployed on other networks to migrate to the protocol easily.
Valentin Cobelea, the Head of Gaming Technology at Zilliqa, noted that the company would provide Alien World with technical support to ensure the games are correctly integrated with the Unity SDK.
“Alien World’s strong and dedicated player base catapulted it into becoming the world’s most popular blockchain game, which in turn will provide significant exposure for our gaming hub as well as the games built by our in-house team and the Zilliqa community. We’ll provide Alien Worlds with technical support to ensure the game is properly integrated with our Unity SDK and gaming hub, in what will be a strong addition to our ecosystem,” he said.
Zilliqa Dives Deeper into Blockchain Gaming
In addition to offering its Unity SDK, the layer 1 blockchain protocol will also provide a platform to showcase innovative in-game decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) and Player Vs. Players (PvP) features to the global gaming audience.
As per the announcement, the partnership will allow Zilliqa to expand its business of competitive blockchain games to strengthen its position as they advance in the blockchain gaming industry. The firm aims to build a gaming hub that allows players to trade in-game properties to earn platform-level rewards.
On the other hand, the collaboration allows Alien World to benefit from Zilliqa’s eSports partners such as Ninjas In Pyjamas, RRQ, and MAD Lions to read to a broader audience.
Speaking on the new development, Tom Fleetham, the Head of Business Development of Sports and Gaming at Zilliqa, noted that the partnership would help Alien World reach more traditional gaming enthusiasts that would earn tangible rewards for their in-game success.
Meanwhile, the blockchain gaming ecosystem is gradually heading for mainstream adoption as more firms onboard into the sector.
In March, Coinfomania reported that Krafton, the company behind the creation of the famous Player’s Unknown’s Battleground (PUBG) game, secured a partnership with Solana Labs to promote the development of blockchain games.
