What could Terra founder Do Kwon be getting up to in Serbia?

The infamous co-founder of failed crypto stablecoin TerraUSD, Do Kwon, has been spotted by authorities in Serbia. He continues to evade an Interpol arrest warrant on charges of fraud and tax evasion in South Korea.

Multiple reports detail how the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office is cooperating with Serbian authorities to detain Kwon. The countries, however, currently don’t share any extradition treaties.

In September, South Korea issued an arrest warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into the collapse of Terraform Labs’ crypto tokens terraUSD and luna. Kwon was last seen in Dubai. It was thought the founder had left in October.

Several other executives, including co-founder Daniel Shin, are also wanted by South Korean authorities.

Kwon has plenty to see and do in Serbia

It’s unclear what Kwon is doing in the country, or how much freedom the crypto entrepreneur currently enjoys. However, Kwon frequently denies that he’s on the run.

He tweeted in late September that he’s making “zero effort to hide” and that he went on walks.

Indeed, there’s too much to see and do in Serbia’s capital Belgrade to stay indoors. The city has a rich culture, with plenty of hidden gems for Kwon to enjoy.

A few curated recommendations by the Protos team:

  • Adjust your eyes to daylight with an underground walking tour that brings you to your next stop: the Museum of Illusions.
  • Head back to the hideout. Take a nap. Come nightfall, sample local dishes at Belgrade’s farmer’s market. Then, shake those hips at a scenic night club floating along the river.
  • Fuel up with a hearty breakfast the next morning — it’s time to plan for all contingencies at one of the city’s escape rooms

We hope Kwon makes the best of his time there. However, his current whereabouts are unclear — it’s possible the Terraform Labs co-founder has since left the country.

If he does decide to stay a while longer, Kwon can look forward to next year’s EXIT Festival, heralded by the Guardian as the best of the best. Expect performances by Prodigy, Skrillex, and CamelPhat.
