Shiba Inu Lead Developer Says Shibarium is Coming Before May

Kusama says Shibarium will go live before May.

Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has revealed that Shibarium, the cryptocurrency’s much-anticipated layer-2 network, will be launched before May.

Kusama made this known in response to a Shiba Inu community member who hinted that Shibarium could be released today. According to a screenshot shared by Shiba Inu influencer Lucie, the SHIB community member said Kusama may likely release the much-anticipated Shibarium today.

Responding to the comment, Kusama said“MAY be.” However, Kusama clarified that he was only joking, adding:

“[…] It (Shibarium) will be out before May.”

Kusama’s recent remarks sparked a series of reactions from Shiba Inu community members, who could not hold back their excitement after knowing that Shibarium could launch within the next two months.

Stop Worrying About Shibarium’s Launch in May, Says Kusama

Following the widespread reaction, Kusama asked the community to stop worrying about the May launch date and show concern for Shiba Inu’s developer Kaal Dhairya, who recently lost his father.

How about this? Right now, Kaal is mourning his father. Let’s worry about that first,” Kusama said.

He added that people should enjoy their Valentine’s Day and stop worrying over the possible launch of Shibarium in May.

No Fixed Date for Shibarium Launch

Shibarium is currently one of the most anticipated projects in the Shiba Inu community. Understandably, Shiba Inu community members have continued to anticipate Shibarium’s launch based on the massive hype of the L2 network.

Despite the considerable hype, the team behind the project has remained tight-lipped over the L2 network’s launch date. While the community is furious with the lack of a fixed date for Shibarium, Kusama has noted on numerous occasions that it is not in Shiba Inu’s nature to give dates. As reported yesterday, Kusama said he could not give a fixed date for Shibarium’s launch because the network is not an on/off switch. As Kusama finally puts the Valentine’s Day speculation for Shibarium’s launch to rest, the community will hope that the project goes live before May.
