Samsung has launched its new Galaxy S22 premium smartphone line in the Decentraland metaverse via its virtual Samsung 837X environment.

In the first 11 hours after its introduction on Wednesday at 1:37 pm UTC, over 100,000 users attended the “Samsung Unpacked 2022: The Epic Standard of Smartphone Experiences” event, making it one of Decentraland’s most popular places.

The South Korean multinational electronics manufacturer displayed the South Korean multinational electronics manufacturer on a screen in the Samsung 837X space’s “Connectivity Theater,”  Fans who aren’t interested in the metaverse could watch via a livestream on Samsung’s YouTube account and other social media sites.

Users can preorder the new devices by clicking on a symbol that takes them to Samsung’s website.

However, the feature was filled with technical glitches. Many users showed their frustrations on Samsung’s Twitter account.

Others, meanwhile, complained that they were unable to obtain the non fungible token badge prize for finishing the event’s treasure hunt game “Turning Red Hearts Green.” The “hunt” will go for five days and will end on Monday.

Despite the technological difficulties, users appear to be satisfied with Samsung’s environmental commitment and readiness to adopt rising technology.

On the other side, some mainstream media sources that covered the debut were less than enthusiastic.

As of Jan. 6, The Samsung 837X location on Decentraland first opened its doors as a virtual duplicate of its New York City storefront at 837 Washington Street.

In the same month, Samsung announced a partnership with Veritree, a blockchain technology firm, to plant 2 million mangrove trees in Madagascar over the following three months.
