Own Your Data with BChat Web3 Messenger

The world runs on conversations and communication. Be it business or personal, it is necessary to have an effective and reliable communication tool. An important aspect of communication is privacy.

The world needs a censorship-free, privacy-preserving open-source communication protocol that enables freedom of communication.

That’s why BChat was created- the first of its kind – private, decentralized, and encrypted messenger built on top of the Beldex blockchain.

BChat will enable users to communicate via hundreds of decentralized nodes operating on the Beldex blockchain. This dApp will open the door to a secure world of messaging and cater to users’ need of conversing with privacy. It will be cross-platform and available to download on both Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices.

Why privacy?

The messaging application services popular these days are centralized, which means all your personal information such as phone number, email ID, username, geolocation, and such will be laid bare and be accessible to third parties and the entity providing these services. This will give room for exploitation by the service provider. More often than naught, your personal data is shared with advertisers, corporations, and political groups.

Why BCHAT?

The team behind BChat states that “BChat is designed to be an open-source, secure, and private communication tool for everyone.”

Speaking about the need for privacy, Affandy B Hushni, Chairman of Beldex, the decentralized project responsible for developing BChat, states that “there’s a growing need for decentralized applications to incorporate privacy into how they’re designed. Being decentralized and censorship-free is great. But we need to balance transparency and privacy. In certain cases, privacy needs to be prioritized, especially when it comes to services like instant communication. That’s why we’re building BChat.“

Not only data but also the accompanying metadata such as the timestamp, location, size, and other aspects of the message are obscured. The Beldex chain’s underlying cryptography ensures that your message always remains private. BChat lets users sign up anonymously, and be given a randomized alphanumeric code that they can share to connect with their friends.

A WEB3 chat app

Web3 is the mesh of interoperable chains, of the decentralized web that lets users participate and own a stake in it. You can send private messages using BChat and own a stake in the DApp by adding to its security and decentralization. Beldex Masternodes provide storage, bandwidth, and a secure relay channel for the passage of messages.

When you send a message through BChat, the text will be incoherent as it passes through the nodes in the network. The only person who can decrypt the message is the receiver.

If anyone does attempt to engage in malicious activity, such as tracking user data or denying the service through their masternode, the network will penalize the masternode. Even the staked collateral coins will be slashed. This ensures that masternode operators remain honest at all times.

The team has also announced Beldex Research Labs for the research and development of zk-SNARK based sidechains for scaling, the Beldex Virtual Machine for privacy-based smart contracts, the Beldex name system, and the Beldex ecosystem. BChat will be one of the many decentralized applications which collectively will make up the Beldex privacy ecosystem.

About BELDEX

Beldex is a blockchain project focused on developing a decentralized, privacy-first Web3 ecosystem with the BChat private messenger, the BelNet dVPN, the Beldex privacy browser, and the Beldex privacy protocol.

Beldex uses a novel proof of stake consensus model and a masternode architecture that helps it scale with adoption. Beldex will be launching its flagship product BChat, the first in a long line of decentralized applications, in Q2, 2022.
