Huddle01 and Filecoin Captivate Over 2000 Attendees at FIL Bangalore’23

FIL Bangalore, the Indian edition of Filecoin’s global event series, organized by Huddle01, took place this year with much fanfare and enthusiasm. The power-packed schedule started with Huddle01’s co-founders Ayush, the CEO, and Susmit, the CTO, briefly reminding the audience of the events of the 1st edition last year.

A full house of 2000+ attendees and more than 50 partners were then inducted to this year’s mission, uniting the leading web3 companies, projects, investors, developers, and experts to deliberate upon and explore the tools required to empower our future with the notion of decentralization where people is at the center stage of everything.

High-Impact Keynote by Juan Benet: Tapping the Potential of Web3 to its Fullest

Juan Benet, the inventor of the revolutionary Interplanetary File System (IPFS) protocol, stressed the potential of web3 that awaits to be leveraged. He highlighted how web3 can help address privacy and data ownership challenges and pointed out its capacity to make the world more equitable, inclusive, and democratic through enhanced accessibility and connectivity.

Focusing next on India, he underlined the country’s advantages for fostering innovation, emphasizing its potential for working on your next big idea. Benet, also the founder of Protocol Labs, then revealed the PL Dev Guild. This Guild is envisioned as a cohesive program designed to upscale, fund, and mentor developers working towards a decentralized future. Notably, the program is set to launch first in India, backed by a nearly US$2.3 million-strong fund.

As the focus shifted from the broad implications of web3 to its practical applications, the stage was then taken by Huddle01.

Huddle01 Takes the Stage: dRTC Network, Brand New SDK, and More

The Huddle01 co-founders Ayush and Sushmit elaborated on their vision and on-ground action plan for the future, with their focus on the imminent launch of the dRTC Network. It promises to be game-changing to the ways we have known audio/video communication over cyberspace so far.

The dRTC Network will be community-driven and inclusive to the fullest extent possible. It will be open to all and entirely powered by the users. Individuals will be responsible for running all its nodes and, in return, will earn rewards for their efforts to enrich the network and make it 100% self-sustaining.

Shruti Appiah, Huddle01 Advisor, known for designing sustainable systems for Ethereum, Cosmos, and Cardano, took the attendees through the complex crypto-economics systems that will govern the dRTC Network. In her detailed explanation, she also elaborated on how Huddle01’s execution layer – Layer01 – would not only aid the growth of the dRTC network but also enable other networks to thrive.

Following this, Huddle01’s Product Lead, Daria Saji, stepped in to explain the benefits of the new and robust Huddle01 SDK. She highlighted its wide scalability potential and lower latency, emphasizing how these features contribute to a better user experience.

An Enthusiastic Ecosystem Commingling to Understand the Opportunities Better

All that happened over a super-energetic couple of days at the FIL Bangalore was indicative of a thriving web3 ecosystem in India, synergetic with its global counterparts.

Partners from Filecoin, Helium, Flipkart, Phaver, Sandbox, MOI Protocol, Fluence, Web3Auth, Secured Finance, Zetachain, and more, talked, discussed, and exchanged opinions and thoughts on a range of topics. Topics covered included community and co-creation, how to navigate crypto markets, the future of DePIN in India, ways to steer through the Web3 social landscape, the future of fintech, and much more.

A special highlight was the second-day event, which featured a surprise Fireside Chat between Juan Benet and Balajis (in virtual attendance). They discussed India’s startup ecology, how AI and Crypto intersection points may form symbiotically, data policies, regulations, and more.

The success of the event was further underscored by the role of XMTP & Unlock Protocol, which powered web3 ticketing, with 87% of attendees registering via their wallet address. The depth and width of the community’s achievements are challenging to fully acknowledge, but efforts from Aptos, Filecoin Foundation, CyberConnect, IPFS, Fluence, MOI Protocol, Zetachain, Instadapp, Secured Finance, Web3Auth, The Rodman Law Group, web3.storage, nft.storage, Macha, and all community and media partners were essential in ensuring its success.
