Untraceable Events brings back 2nd Annual ETHToronto Hackathon on August 13-16, 2023 as part of the fifth annual Blockchain Futurist Conference in Toronto, Canada. New this year will be the launch of ETHWomen, a female-focused and inclusive hackathon and competition.

Last year ETHToronto hackathon hosted 500 developers, this year they are expecting over 1000 participants from around the world to attend and lend their talents to ETHToronto and ETHWomen events.

The hackathons will be hosted at George Brown College in partnership with their Blockchain Development Program. Participants form teams, attend workshops and receive mentorship while building the next innovation in blockchain technology.

Top teams have the opportunity to present at Blockchain Futurist Conference – the largest blockchain event in Canada with over 8000 attendees. This is the perfect setting for hackathon participants to showcase their builds, connect with employers, fundraise and network.  All hackathon participants receive free entry to Blockchain Futurist Conference.

The inaugural ETHWomen, in collaboration with CryptoChicks, is a female focused and inclusive hackathon. The goal is to provide a supportive environment for women and the LGBTQ2 community to showcase their talent, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

“We are thrilled to support a blockchain hackathon for women, as we believe diversity and inclusivity are critical for driving innovation in the blockchain industry. By supporting and empowering women in blockchain, we hope to create a more diverse and dynamic community that can bring about real-world solutions to complex challenges.”

said Elena Sinelnikova, CEO MetisDAO, and CoFounder of CryptoChicks.

In the past, Untraceable Events has given away up to 35 Bitcoin to one top winner at their 2014 hackathon. Hackathon organizer Tracy Leparulo, the founder of Untraceable Events, organized the original Ethereum hackathon 2014. Other past events include BlockGeeks Hackathon in 2016, and the original ETHWaterloo in 2017.

“Toronto is the birthplace of Ethereum, and, since those early days, we have witnessed this city, grow into a vibrant hub for decentralized technology”

said Untraceable Founder & CEO, Tracy Leparulo.

“We believe that this event will drive innovation and bring about a brighter future for the broader blockchain ecosystem. Empowering women in Web3 is not just a trend, it’s a necessary movement.
