ENS and Coinbase expand cb.id names on mobile applications

Ethereum Network Service (ENS) domain issuer has partnered with US crypto exchange Coinbase to expand the usage of cb.id web3 names. The usernames will be available on Android and iOS mobile applications to over 130 million users.

Blockchain domains on Coinbase will allow users to use them as unique virtual addresses to store, send and receive cryptocurrencies and NFTs on Coinbase mobile platforms.

The announcement came in through a tweet by the blockchain domain provider. As a result of the partnership, users can claim a free cb.id Web3 username on their mobile phones, making digital wallet identifications and interactions easier.

As part of the partnership privileges, Coinbase users will have the option of consolidating their virtual identities on various web3 channels, a move set to improve the overall virtual experience.

ENS’s collaboration with Coinbase is on track to simplify virtual identification by promoting easy human-identified names. The technological advancement will enhance the use of Coinbase mobile applications bearing in mind that most Coinbase registered users utilize the firms’ mobile applications on Android and Apple-powered phones.

According to the thread, “having mobile access to your wallet with a human-readable name is the kind of accessibility all crypto users need. Together, we are making Web3 simple and effective for all.”

ENS domains surge to all-time highs

Per a recent report by crypto.news, ENS domains surged to an all-time high in 2022 with more than 2 million new registered domains. The figure increment in last year alone marketed an 80% increase from the total number of domains registered and transacted. Blockchain domains are becoming popular daily with massive cryptographic and non-cryptographic use cases.

Blockchain names have also been appreciated over time. In April last year, 555.eth ENS domain was sold on OpenSea for 55.5 ETH, equivalent to $156,821.91. Blockchain domains are changing Web3 identification.
