Changes in the Top

The Luxemburg-based digital asset trading venue has a new Global CEO, and his name is Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux. Prior to that, he served as the company’s Europe CEO.

Graftieaux has a rich experience in the field of crypto and finance, working for more than a decade at PayPal and eBay. Between 2014 and 2016, he was Bitstamp’s Chief Compliance Officer, where he was responsible for collaborating with monetary watchdogs.

Nicolas Huss – Chairman of the Board of Directors – noted that Graftieaux has been aiding Bitstamp’s efforts since the early days and has “admirably led” the European business arm in the past year.

“We’re pleased to welcome a CEO with such an impressive track record and very much look forward to the contribution and perspective he will bring to the company in his new role,” he added.

For his part, Graftieaux claimed that Bitstamp is a “highly trusted crypto exchange” with millions of customers and a strategic vision for the future financial ecosystem.

“Together with our highly experienced Executive Leadership Team, and more than 500 employees, we are well-positioned to continue to accelerate crypto access for our valued clients and partners across the globe. As Global CEO, I look forward to building on this strong foundation,” the top executive vowed.

Bitstamp’s previous CEO was Julian Sawyer. During his tenure, the company obtained regulatory licenses in North America, inked numerous partnerships with banks, and reached a user base of over 4 million clients.

Bitstamp’s Collaboration With Immortals

A few months back, the entity signed a three-year agreement with the American professional esports organization – Immortals, becoming its official cryptocurrency exchange. Moreover, the deal turned Bitstamp into a founding member of the gaming company.

The collaboration’s primary goal is to educate the gaming community about the crypto sector and bring additional opportunities to fans.

Before this deal, Bitstamp teamed up with another esports brand – the London-based Guild Esports. Both parties signed a three-year global sponsorship deal for approximately $5.6 million, marking Guild Esports’ largest sponsorship agreement in its history. The company estimated it will generate annual revenues of $1.8 million over the three-year period.
