Telegram Username NFT “Boss” Sells for 500,000 USDT on TON

Another valuable Telegram username has just been sold on TON for 500,000 USDT, an on-chain transaction that spread through the cryptocurrency and NFT communities. The sale adds another massive chunk to the market for Telegram usernames, in which short, memorable handles are being bought and sold as valuable assets.

Data from Tonviewer posted on X indicated the transaction was confirmed on April 27. The event summary of a contract call, two token transfers of 495,000 USDT and 5,000 USDT, and an NFT transfer to @boss indicated the event included the payment and the token transfer. 

A $500,000 Handle Changes Hands

Notably, the latest transaction moved one of Telegram’s best-known premium handles into a new wallet through a single TON-based resale. Reports tied the sale to the @boss username NFT, while Tonviewer’s event log showed the full 500,000 USDT payment split into two token transfers.

That structure matched the broader market chatter on X. DegenerateNews posted that the TON-based Telegram username “BOSS” sold for 500K USDT, while Viktor described it as a “massive sale” and pointed users toward Telegram NFT usernames on TON. The transaction was fast, but the blockchain data allowed public verification of the transaction. 

From Fragment Buy to Sharp Resale Gain

On one hand, the resale price marks a major jump from the asset’s earlier purchase. The previous holder reportedly acquired @boss in November 2022 during the early fragment auctions for 40,000 TON, which was worth roughly $64,000 at the time.

That puts the new sale at nearly eight times the earlier dollar value over about three and a half years. Moreover, the move shows how early buyers of premium Telegram handles have continued to benefit from the secondary market, especially when the names are short, simple, and commercially useful.

The latest sale also highlights the trend for Telegram usernames to be used as assets, rather than the mere profile feature of an app. Ownership is locked on-chain through TON, and the handle itself can move independently of any single Telegram identity.

Premium Usernames Keep Building a Market

On the other hand, the @boss sale is large, but it is not the highest price seen in this segment. Reports said @news sold for about $1.7 million in 2022, while @danbao changed hands for around $2.2 million in February 2026. Other premium names, including @crypto, have also drawn very large bids.

Notably, the latest deal keeps attention on a market that has continued to expand since Telegram launched username trading through Fragment in late 2022. Each username is minted as an NFT on TON, allowing users to buy, hold, and resell handles through a blockchain-based structure rather than a closed platform system.

That framework has helped turn premium Telegram usernames into a niche but active category of digital property. Meanwhile, the @boss transfer shows that buyers are still willing to pay large amounts for short, brandable identities, especially when the asset combines social visibility, naming scarcity, and on-chain ownership in one package.
