The coffee mammoth unveiled its strategies to step into web3 sphere with the release of its own NFT channel later this year, where the sole virtual collectibles also offer their clients accessibility to exclusive content experiences alongside other perks.

Brady Brewer, CEO of Starbucks stated during an investors call that, surfacing techs linked to Web3, and particularly NFTs, now allows this ambition and enables the organization to expand who they have always been at the heart.

The organization pointed out that it would develop its own NFT community on an environmentally viable Web3 platform — a decision it stated would be more in line with persisting sustainability commitments. The organization did not point out what kind of blockchain technology they will choose to implement here for their NFT channel, however, it is likely to be chain agnostic or multi chain.

Seeking a Person Who Fits The Bill

Remarkably, Starbucks stated that it is seeking for a latest CEO who understands potential of these techs, as per the present interim Howard Schultz, the CEO. The longtime executive has returned to lead the coffee chain, following the decamping of Kevin Johnson, who had acted as the CEO since 2017.

Additionally, to have a robust understanding of Starbucks brand and international experience, he stated the latest CEO must have the understanding of Web3 technologies, as they could assist the organization better associate with the younger generation. 

The NFTs may also offer a route to generate incremental traffic and revenue, not just in terms of retail, but also incremental revenue as an outcome of its own business, added the executive.

There weren’t too many questions associated with Starbucks’ latest NFT venture, rather than that, the concentration was towards learning more regarding higher-degree business impacts such as unionization attempts, elimination of buyback of shares and conditions in China, along with other things.
