NFT: Teen sells artwork for $50 million

NFTs are still staking their claims as one of the most sought-after in the market. Despite the market-wide decline, traders in the sector are still purchasing artworks. In a recent update, a 19-year-old teen has sold his new artwork for $50 million. The teen in question, Victor Langlois, has been in the news before after completing a sale of an NFT worth $2 million last year. The said NFT was an intro into the artists’ life.

He sold an NFT for $20 million in 24 hours

Nonfungible tokens are unique tokens that represent a rare physical piece and can be anything from artwork to videos. Since his first sale last year, the teen artist has recorded more successful selling NFTs. Some months ago, he sold a rare piece of NFT for $20 million just a day after it was listed.

The sale marked the third-highest that has ever been recorded in the history of the marketplace where it was sold. According to a statement by the artist at the time, he did not expect to record such a high amount on the sale. He also promised to invest more funds into the creation of his artworks. He chipped in jokingly that he now has a dream to do nothing with his time other than drawing.

The collection talked about his life struggles

The said collection detailed the ordeal in his life where he left home due to constant abuse to live with his grandparents. Unfortunately for him, he met the same fate at his grandparents. According to an interview he granted last year, Victor said he thought it would be an improved environment, but everything was just as he left it at home. He also mentioned his struggles with coming out as a transgender and the remarks his grandparents used to make when he spent time doing arts.

His grandmother often criticized his art because she wanted him to pursue another profession other than the arts. However, he has proved undeterred as he has amassed more than $50 million. He also mentioned that most of his artworks were done on his mobile device as he did not have access to the essential equipment needed to draw.
