Netgear Collab SuperRare DAO To Develop NFT Art Licensing Model

  • The SuperRare DAO will demonstrate their art on Meural smart frames.
  • Mural Digital Canvas will connect its canvas with MetaMask and Coinbase wallet.

The networking hardware company Netgear has already expanded into smart home products. Later, the Web2 standby is on its way to gathering Web3 market share.

In 2018, Netgear bought various smart home products with Meural smart frames digital canvas. But as per companies latest plan, the Meural digital art frames are used for the demonstrations of NFTs. That will be with the collaboration of the digital art marketplace SuperRare collections and artists.

This collaboration meant joining the digital art marketplace SuperRare DAO. And additionally, its governance token, RARE. This somehow represents digital art on its platform. At the same time, the company did not openly say the token purchase amount and quantity.

The Aim Of SuperRare

The company aims to co-develop a licensing and royalty model. That will display the NFTs of curated SuperRare collections on the Meural canvas. While the primary step of Netgear and Meural is to submit a governance proposal to the SuperRare company.

Although, the CEO of SuperRare company John Crain said the advancement of traditional art with NFTs brings a unique entry point for the company.

He said, “There are roughly 10,000 serious traditional art collectors worldwide, and it is like a $60 billion market.” In which he points to Larry’s list of the art collector database.

He further said, “We don’t really have a standard for how to do this with NFTs in the context of streaming.” On the other hand, the smart contract shows a 10% art royalty stipulation for ensuring the company’s compensation by secondary sales.

Meural Integration

The American tech company, Meural, integrates with the well-known crypto wallets Coinbase and MetaMask. The Mueral library has over 30,000 licensed artworks with dynamic and programmable NFTs.

Raising the question on its subscription offering, Crain asked how they can accurately measure what members are currently displaying on their home and office walls and then have the smart contracts “do the maths and distribute funds where appropriate.”

Adding to his words, Crain also said, “These two worlds are coming together, so we are gonna see the user numbers dramatically increase.”
