WWE Expands A&E Partnership With New Seasons Of ‘WWE Legends’ And ‘Rivals’ In 2023

WWE on A&E will return in 2023 with new seasons of Biography: WWE Legends and WWE Rivals. Rivals and Biography will return for their second and third seasons, respectively.

“Airing back-to-back each Sunday, the series continue to explore the lives and careers of some of the most iconic WWE Superstars through unprecedented access, interviews, and footage,” read a WWE press release.

“The premieres continue A&E and WWE’s ongoing partnership featuring 130 hours of new, premium WWE-themed series and specials commissioned by the network to air exclusively on A&E platforms and distributed worldwide by A+E Networks.”

Last season of Biography: WWE Legends garnered a median viewership of 594,000 while WWE Rivals had a median viewership of 368,000. The debut broadcast for Stone Cold Steve Austin drew over one million viewers, and the Texas Rattlesnake will be featured in multiple episodes of Rivals.

Rivals will continue to be hosted by actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr, who will lead panel discussions exploring Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart, Undertaker vs. Mankind, The Rock vs. John Cena, Triple H vs. Batista, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels.

A&E is just one of many broadcasting partnerships that have made WWE omnipresent in today’s media. In addition to its 130 hours of programming on A+E Networks, WWE airs programming on network television (WWE SmackDown airs on FoxFOXA
), cable television (WWE Raw and WWE NXT air on the USA Network) and streaming (the WWE Network airs on NBC Peacock).
