Worlds Metaverse App Still Too Buggy to Be Used

  • Even Meta’s employees are not using the app so much
  • Meta reported having lost $2.8 billion as a result of the poor performance
  • The app is designed to appeal to the users currently purchasing the Meta VR headsets

Vishal Shah, the VP of Metaverse at Meta, acknowledged that Horizon Worlds, the flagship app Meta uses to demonstrate the potential of its metaverse, still faces numerous usability issues.

Shah says in a recent memo that even Meta’s employees aren’t using the app as much and suggests that time limits will be set for when employees can be on the platform.

Executives now criticize Horizon Worlds and the state of the platform’s flagship metaverse app, recognizing that the metaverse push is having some difficulties.

Horizon Worlds Buggy

The Verge claims that Vishal Shah, Meta’s vice president of metaverse operations, mentioned the platform’s quality issues. The executive proposed attacking bugs in a quality lockdown phase that would last until the end of the current year in recognition of the poor state of Horizon Worlds.

Shah explained that the move would be carried out with the intention of ensuring that we fix our quality gaps and performance issues before we open up Horizon to more users.

Horizon Worlds is an app made for people who are currently purchasing Meta Quest virtual reality headsets, which are the only way to experience these worlds as of this writing.

The company said that the platform for web environments would be available, but it hasn’t said anything more about it.

Lack of Employee ‘Love’

In Mark Zuckerberg’s opinion, the metaverse concept and the significance it will have in the future are crucial to the company’s expansion. Reality Labs, Meta’s metaverse division, failed spectacularly, and the company reported a loss of $2.8 billion in July. Shah is also of the opinion that this idea is solid and significant.

However, as this memo was written on September 15, employees of the company were actively avoiding using the platform. S

hah gave the impression that quotas would be set up for employees to have access to Horizon Worlds in a follow-up memo that was sent on September 30 and confirmed that the situation was still present.

Shah made an effort to entice workers by stating that it should be the goal of everyone in this organization to fall in love with Horizon Worlds. If you don’t use it, you can’t do that. Get inside. Schedule times to do it with friends or coworkers.
