Wordle Today #471 Answer, Hint, Clues For Monday, October 3rd

Welcome back, Wordlers! It’s the first Monday of October, which means we have just about three months left in 2022. This year is really blowing by.

Halloween is just around the corner—Wordle #500 lands the same day—and then Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve. I swear, every year goes by faster than the last.

With October just beginning I thought I’d highlight some things I’m looking forward to this month:

  • Interview With A Vampire on AMC debuted Sunday evening. A live-action TV series based on Anne Rice’s vampire novels could be a lot of fun. We’ll see!
  • Amsterdam, starring Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington, comes to theaters on the 7th. It looks pretty good.
  • The Rock’s new DC film Black Adam hits theaters on October 21st. I have no idea if it will be any good, but I hope so. DC’s track record with films has been pretty hit or miss lately.
  • Video games coming out include Overwatch 2 (Oct 4th), A Plague Tale: Requiem (Oct 18th), Gotham Knights (Oct 21st) and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II (Oct 28th).

Okay, let’s do this Wordle!

Today’s Wordle Solution

The Warning: It’s a spoiler warning! Crazy!

The Hint: Robert and Paul, 1973

The Clue: There’s only one vowel in this word.

The Answer:

I beat Wordle Bot today! Take that, robot scum!

Granted, I got a bit lucky here. Not so much with my first guess, score, which only got me down to 190 possible solutions.

My second guess, stain, was the lucky one lowering my total remaining solutions to just three. I say lucky, but I had good reasoning also. I had eliminated ‘O’ and ‘E’ and thought of a word that would also eliminate ‘A’ and ‘I’—stain fit the bill.

From here, there weren’t a lot of options left. I thought of sting first, but I could just as easily have thought of stink. Or stint.

Wordle Bot was the stinker this time, however. And good riddance!
