WWE NXT Great American Bash Winners and Grades

Tony D’Angelo And Stacks Lorenzo Def. Gallus Boys

Tony D and Stacks’ entrance incorporated rats, while the Gallus Boys were in a soccer locker room with jerseys.

In honor of the night’s event, the crowd was lit in red and blue.

Tony D and Stacks won the NXT Tag Team Championships with the same type of ref distraction Gallus used earlier. Looking at Tony D and Stacks’ emotions alone, it felt like a huge deal.

NXT Tag Title Match Grade: B-

Roxanne Perez Def. Blair Davenport

Just as Vic Joseph asked “how far is too far?” a masked Blair Davenport attacked Roxanne Perez while Perez was saying hi to her family.

Fans were wildly behind Roxanne Perez, who received perpetual chants of “let’s go Roxy!”

The shots of Roxanne Perez’s mom and tearful sister throughout the match were great, and Blair Davenport as a heel was even better.

In a callback to Dusty Rhodes, Perez broke out a bull rope.

Davenport vs. Perez Grade: B+

Baron Corbin And Gable Steveson Battle to A Double Countout

Fans turned on Gable Steveson immediately, backing Baron Corbin with chants of “let’s go Corbin” and “Baron Corbin.”

Gable Steveson’s punches need work, to say the least. And while his suplexes looked explosive, there were a few which looked king of wonky.

The double countout finish elicited chants of “bulls–t.” When Steveson stood tall at the end he was booed yet again.

Gable Steveson needs a heel-turn and a mouthpiece. if WWE brought back Teddy Long and the Whiteboy Challenge, Steveson would be a star.

Gable Steveson vs. Baron Corbin Grade: C-

Dominik Mysterio Def. Wes Lee And Mustafa Ali

Backstage, there was a brawl between Lyra Valkyria and Jacy Jayne, prompting Rhea Ripley, who was passing by, to tell Valkyria “that’s what I was looking for.”

There was more heat during the ring announcement than there were in any match, thanks to Dominik Mysterio.

There was an incredible dive from Wes Lee, who then stuck the landing before being mauled by Rhea Ripley.

There was a great double-three amigos suplex on Dom.

Rhea Ripley put Wes Lee through a table and pulled Mustafa Ali out of the ring when he was on his way to a win. She deserves the NXT North American just as much as Dom. Ever the heel, Booker T insisted she did it all by herself.

NXT North American Title Triple Threat Match Grade: A-

Tiffany Stratton Def. Thea Hale

Chase U signs were out in full force during this match. It looked like something straight out of the Attitude Era.

This is the youngest women’s championship match in WWE PPV/PLE history.

Following a heated North American Title match, it took a while for Stratton vs. Hale to get the fans going. When they did, however, they were split. At one point, after a controversial spot where it seemed Stratton tapped out, there was a dueling chant of “no she didn’t/yes she did!”

Surprisingly, Andre Chase, not Duke Hudson, threw in the towel while Hale was trapped in a single-leg crab. The crowd was furious.

Stratton vs. Hale Grade: B-

Carmelo Hayes Def. Ilja Dragunov

In another tribute to Dusty Rhodes, Carmelo Hayes’ entrance incorporated elements of Rhodes’ Hard Times promo.

From the moment the bell rang, Carmelo Hayes and Dragunov committed to violence.

Fans chanted for Melo throughout the match, especially when Dragunov would get into his realistic offense. Melo sold great throughout.

This match earned multiple “this is awesome” chants to go along with chants of “NXT!”

Hayes overshot a springboard DDT but Dragunov took it perfectly and it looked even better.

By the end of the match, Hayes’ chest was red the devil is.

Hayes caught Dragunov with a Codebreaker in midair, and Dragunov bounced high into the air, leading to chants of “holy s—t!”

Trick Williams kept hyping up Hayes by showing him the NXT title. At pone point, Dragunov hit a flying headbutt on Williams. This led to the Nothign But Net and the finish.

Dragunov vs. Hayes Grade: A+
