Will There Be A Season 4 Of Euphoria? Here’s Why Signs Point To No

Fans have been through a lot with Euphoria. There have been years-long waits for new episodes, numerous cast changes, the deaths of beloved cast members Angus Cloud and Eric Dane, and now, with the Season 3 finale airing tonight, there’s a chance it could all be over.

The Season 3 finale, “In God We Trust,” premieres Sunday, May 31, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max. At 93 minutes, it is one of the longest episodes in HBO history, on par with the 90-minute White Lotus Season 3 finale and the 82-minute third episode of Game of Thrones Season 8. If this is the end of the Emmy-winning series, Sam Levinson is not going quietly.

Spoiler alert: In the penultimate episode, Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs was killed off after being buried alive and then bitten by a rattlesnake. Rue broke into drug dealer Laurie’s basement safe, only to find it contained no money, just photos and IDs. Fern then tipped off her dangerous white supremacist boyfriend, Wayne, about what Rue had done.

Zendaya’s character has barely made it out alive this season, and her ominous voiceover in Episode 7, where she says “If there’s a beginning, there must be an end,” may be the most telling of what’s to come in tonight’s long-awaited conclusion.

Will There Be A Season 4 Of Euphoria?

A fourth season of Euphoria has not yet been officially announced by HBO, which listed tonight’s episode as a “season finale,” not a “series finale.” That means the network may be keeping its options open. However, comments from the show’s creator and cast hint that this could be the end after all.

Ahead of the Season 3 premiere in April, Levinson told Variety that he writes “every season like it’s the last season” and currently has “no plans” for a Season 4. In a separate interview with ExtraTV, he responded, “I have no idea,” when asked whether this would be the last.

“We’ll see what HBO wants, what I feel like I can do to deliver,” he explained. “I don’t know.” He added that he was excited to spend time with his family and do nothing for a little while.

Meanwhile, Zendaya was more direct when asked about the show’s future. On The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress replied, “I think so, yeah,” when Barrymore asked whether it was the final season. “That closure is coming,” she said.

Cast Schedules Could Make Season 4 Difficult To Pull Off

The biggest obstacle to making Season 4 of Euphoria could be the cast’s schedules. Although the show helped launch many of its stars to fame, they are now among Hollywood’s most in-demand actors. With Elordi’s character killed off, coordinating the schedules of remaining major stars like Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney could prove challenging.

This year, Zendaya is playing the goddess Athena in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey, which hits theaters July 17. She’s also reprising her role as MJ in Spider-Man: Brand New Day this summer.

She’s also returning as Chani in Denis Villeneuve’s conclusion to the Dune trilogy, arriving in theaters December 18, 2026 (the same day as Avengers: Doomsday, in which MJ could possibly appear since she’s part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe).

Barry Jenkins is set to direct Zendaya in Be My Baby, a film about the life of singer Ronnie Spector, with a screenplay by Dave Kajganich, per Deadline. She will also voice the daughter of Shrek and Fiona in Shrek 5, joining Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy. The sequel is set to be released June 30, 2027.

As for Sweeney, she will be starring in Scandalous! for Miramax, directed by her Euphoria co-star Colman Domingo in his feature directorial debut. She is also filming Netflix and Legendary’s live-action Gundam film alongside Noah Centineo, according to Deadline,

Additionally, Sweeney will appear in Custom of the Country, an adaptation of Edith Wharton’s novel. In October 2025, it was announced that the actress had teamed with director Justin Lin on That Man From Rio, an Apple Original adventure comedy on which she will also serve as executive producer.

The Housemaid’s Secret, the sequel to her successful 2025 thriller The Housemaid, has already secured a December 2027 release date. And for more than three years, Sweeney has been attached to star in and produce a Barbarella remake for Sony Pictures.
