Earlier there were many instances where Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin was seen criticizing Ripple (XRP). Now he came again with a hit on the payment protocol. Recently, Buterin went on to Twitter and cited in 2020, Ripple earlier tried to indicate bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). He said in his tweet that this is why XRP holds no right to protection.
Seems like that the continued disagreement between Ethereum co-founder and Ripple Labs is not going to conclude anytime soon. Buterin picked up the instance of addressing stringent regulations of Canada, as yet another chance to continue his long stayed resentments.
In December, 2022, in an article that is now deleted, with the title ‘Summary of Ripple’s Well Submission, Ripple Labs mentioned top crypto networks bitcoin and ethereum under the control of Chinese influence. This statement of payment protocol came in the wake of justifying his arguments against the charges of SEC where the agency considered XRP as a security. However, these statements turned out to be discomforting for Buterin.
At the time, Buterin said that it appeared to him that the team behind Ripple (XRP), is reaching new stages of weirdness. He said that the team members were claiming their digital asset should not be considered as security while calling bitcoin and ethereum under Chinese control.
Earlier Buterin also appeared to mock one of the prominent non-fungible tokens created on his own co-founded Ethereum network, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
Buterin was outspoken about his views over crypto space. While attending the Blockchain Futurist Conference organized in Toronto, he argued that the actual motive behind the creation of cryptocurrencies seems to have shifted. While referring to bored ape NFTs, he said that people are now using their crypto wallets for absurd reasons.
Ethereum co-founder further added that initial creators of crypto thought of a greater motive, to fight against the nation-state authority to bring every individual’s financial freedom. He humorously said that now creators use the same tech for creating weird things like monkeys.
