Vitalik Buterin Indirectly Provoked Development of The Protocol (THE)

The social media space is full of weird instances happening daily yet some of them turn out to be talked about in mainstream masses. One such instance involved Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin who just made a Tweet and creation of a whole new project followed it all along.

On October 14th, Vitalik Buterin went on to Twitter and posted pointing towards the spam accounts and bots on the social media platform. He noted someone should create a project and name it as THE protocol so that every time any bot would use shilling phrases, it would end up mentioning the protocol.

Vitalik’s Tweet was not even an Indirect Message!

Well, what followed next to it might not be expected to anyone, even Vitalik Buterin. On October 18th, Nansen reported the launch of an all new crypto project following the call of Buterin and also showed some figures around it.

Nansen in its Twitter thread mentioned, citing dextools, the native asset of The Protocol named THE witnessed a jump of over 10 times in less than 24 hours. It further noted the biggest holder of THE token is Vitalik Buterin himself as the project had sent 10% of the total supply, which is about 100 million THE token, to the Canadian developer.

Although there was mention of 50 non-entity addresses holding slightly over 50% of the rest of token supply. It also reported that MEXC became the first centralized exchange to list THE token over its platform where it is currently holding about 11.2 million tokens.

Vitalik Buterin was highlighting the perennial issue of bots and spam accounts over Twitter while there are a significant number of fake accounts by the identity of Ethereum creator. Many times such issues were reported including these accounts running scams related to crypto or involved in hacking other accounts, etc.

Musk Met the Non-Fake Vitalik Buterin

Tesla and SpaceX CEO and centibillionaire Elon Musk also noted the same issue, with a pinch of humor. On October 25th, Vitalik Buterin made a post on Twitter which Musk took on and said he had seen the first real tweet from Vitalik.

Given the language, Musk’s tweet could be inferred as bringing spam and bot accounts into spotlight citing various fake accounts from Vitalik Buterin’s name on the social media platform. World’s richest man has been conscious and outspoken about the issue on various instances.

While making the same allegations he went on to offer to buy Twitter and claimed to make the platform free from the burning issue. However the deal did not go as per the plans and ended up becoming a legal tussle between Twitter and Elon Musk waiting for a way out.
