Visa Recruits Frank Cooper III as Global Chief Marketing Officer

NYSE-listed Visa has recently announced the appointment of Frank Cooper III, former CMO at BuzzFeed, as its new Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In his new role, Cooper will drive Visa’s international marketing strategy.

Cooper will join the company in May 2022. Additionally, he will also serve as a member of Visa’s Executive Committee. The newly appointed CMO joins the financial firm from BlackRock, an American multinational investment management corporation, where he worked for more than 5 years as Senior Managing Director and Global CMO.

“Frank is a rare mix of creative brand strategist with strong business acumen and a leader who understands the deeper brand opportunity that comes from leading with purpose,” said Al Kelly, Chairman & CEO at Visa. “We are thrilled to welcome Frank to Visa and for the broad perspective and skillful leadership he will bring to our business and ongoing brand evolution.”

Earlier this month, Visa announced the appointment of Jennifer Como as Head of Investor Relations. Jennifer succeeded Mike Milotich.

Cooper’s Background

Cooper has more than two decades of experience in the global corporate sector. He previously worked with companies like PepsiCo, BuzzFeed, and America Online. According to Visa, Cooper will lead the company’s branding efforts as well. He will report to Al Kelly, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Visa.

“The Visa brand is among the world’s most respected and recognizable, and I am truly excited for the opportunity to build on the work that has come before me. The power of a great brand comes from providing outstanding products that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives – and the world-at-large – and I look forward to beginning my new role knowing how foundational both of these things are to Visa,” Cooper commented on the appointment.

Last year, Visa completed the acquisition of Currencycloud.
