Key Background

The first season focused on the romance between Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page. Page became the breakout star of the series and went on to host Saturday Night Live last year. It was announced in April he would not appear in the show’s second season, as his character’s story arc was contained to the first. The second season focuses on the love life of Daphne Bridgerton’s brother Anthony, who is portrayed by Jonathan Bailey.
