Twitter Users can now put NFTs as Profile Picture and a lot more

The announcement was made in September to launch such a feature, and finally, it’s on the run but only on Twitter’s premium version that too for IOS users for now.

Twitter’s move towards NFTs

Mega Social Media platform now has avail option for premium users to put their NFTs as their account profile picture. This feature addition is enough to celebrate NFT owners and crypto enthusiasts. Twitter had announced in September that it would soon provide a feature for its users on its platform, which will add on an authentication measure of their NFTs.

The announcement was proof of Twitter’s pro-crypto approach from the beginning. For now, the option is available on Twitter Blue, and any IOS user can pay $2.99 for the platform’s premium version and have the feature. On top of that, the same upgrade allows users to link their wallet to their Twitter account.

Unique upgrades from Twitter’s side

Although earlier users could also put their NFTs pictures on their profile now, Twitter will also validate authenticity. It will add an icon on the profile indicating that the NFT used is authenticated and that the account holder is officially the owner of it. The profile image feature will also show information about the creator of NFT, its unique traits and specifications, which token it’s deployed with and the network on which NFT is based.

Limited availability of the feature

The users of the feature itself get minimized because of its availability conditions. Although only Twitter Blue premium members and IOS users can add their NFTs, it will be seen by every Twitter user. To get more information regarding NFT, users will have to tap on a hexagonal-shaped profile picture.

It’s not clear from the company about its expansion and availability to ordinary users. According to Twitter, the NFT feature is still in its experimental phase. The announcement has also emphasized that the wallet available on the profile will only access the address. Twitter will not ask for any internal access to the wallet. It even warned hackers and scammers not to do so.

Supportive approaches of Twitter towards crypto

The social media platform has been famous for its crypto-supportive moves throughout time. Former CEO Jack Dorsey has been a crypto supporter and openly voiced Bitcoin many times. He even said Bitcoin would be the reason for world peace.

After he left the post, it was hoped that the company would continue its pro-crypto approach with new leadership. Hopefully, new CEO Parag Agarwal has a positive stance regarding crypto and is an Ethereum believer. Moreover, he will be overseeing the Web 3 projects of Twitter as well.
