The British government has joined a debate on stablecoins with a fairly holistic framework that is now open to public consultation.
“The government anticipates broadening the definition of a payment system to include arrangements that facilitate or control the transfer of ‘digital settlement assets’ (DSA),” the Treasury said before adding:
