TON Foundation Enters The World Of ENS Naming System

TON Foundation

  • The Open Network (TON) built a crypto-domain naming system, where you can get your domains in a human readable format.
  • There are already few crypto DNS systems available in the market right now, such as ‘..eth’, as well as ‘.crypto’
  • This is going to help users in many ways. Biggest of which is enabling them to access the dApps, or the decentralized applications iteratively and simply.

Crypto DNS for TON

Almost all of the technology companies are understanding the value and power of this new ecosystem, known as the Ethereum Naming System, or ENS.

The Open Network (TON) joins the list of these companies by making this cryptocurrency upgrade in its ecosystem.

If you aren’t familiar with the Domain Naming System, or as commonly known as the DNS, it is nothing but a technology where you get the domains in the human readable format, which are pretty easy to understand as well as remember.

On Thursday, the TON foundation announced their plans of launching a DNS for TON, or a TON DNS.

This is a new service which will do what a regular DNS does, but instead of allowing the users to assign human-readable names to their domains, it assignes the name to:

  • Crypto Wallets
  • Smart Contracts
  • Websites

‘.ton’ To The Rescue

There are already few crypto DNS systems available in the market right now, such as ‘..eth’, as well as ‘.crypto’.

TON is joining the list of these extensions by adding ‘.ton’ to the list.

Users are going to be benefited in many ways. Biggest of which is enabling them to access the dApps, or the decentralized applications iteratively and simply.

Earlier, the crypto users used to type long and complex strings of letters and numbers which was really hectic.

But now, to the rescue, came TON DNS, which allows us to use simple letters and alphabets.

“The launch of TON DNS will simplify how users engage with the TON blockchain and will continue to make TON even more accessible.”

These were the words of the TON foundation. “A .ton domain name, therefore, will be a welcome alternative to centralized domain registries, which have the ability to block a website’s domain arbitrarily.”
