Today’s ‘Wordle’ Answer #303: Monday, April 18th Solution

Well it’s Monday again. Another weekend has passed, another week begins. For those of you who were celebrating, I hope you had a terrific Easter. We had a bit of a family feast and I made Shepherd’s Pie which turned out quite tasty.

It’s also suddenly startlingly warm and the hike we went on Sunday really took it out of me for whatever reason. Much of the evening all I could think about was sleep. To shuffle off this mortal coil, however briefly. To sleep, perchance to dream. Therein lies the rub.

In any case, we have another Wordle guide for you this fine Monday in Spring, as April reaches and then tip-toes past its crest and the month begins to wane. Today’s word of the day wasn’t the hardest I’ve seen, but it’s sure to present its own unique challenges.

Today’s Wordle #303 Answer & Hint

As per usual, this is the part where I warn you all of spoilers. Spoilers in the form of a hint (first) and then today’s Wordle answer (second). We’ll start with the hint.

Sometimes, if you’re good at something, people say you have a [ ] for it.

And the answer is . . . .

Flair!

So my first guess, trope, did me very little good in terms of correct letters. I only got one and it was in a yellow box, which means in the wrong spot. Still, Wordle Bot—which I’ve written about a bit lately—said this was a ‘great’ opening word, narrowing down possible answers to just 97 words out of 2,039.

Rainy was much better, landing me a whopping three letters, though each of these was in yellow. Wordle Bot called this one a “Wonderful choice” noting that I’d cut the possible solutions down to just seven.

At this point, I probably should have guessed something with air at the end given how common this grouping is in the English language (think stair, chair etc.) Indeed, Wordle Bot informed me after the fact that curia isn’t even in the Wordle solutions list, though it also noted that once I’d guessed it my options were cut down to just one—the only possible remaining guess.

That last remaining guess was flair and I walked away with a ‘splendid’ victory. I’ll take it!

Have a great Monday and hang in there this week, dear Wordlers. The night is dark and full of terrors, but we take small pleasures where we can find them. Be well.
