Today’s ‘Wordle’ Answer #294: Saturday, April 9th Solution

Well it’s Saturday—again—which means we have a Wordle to solve.

The last few Wordle words of the day have been kind of easy, and today’s basically fits the same bill. It’s not the easiest word out there, but it’s definitely not the most difficult, either.

The viral puzzle game is just kind of like that. Sometimes it churns out some really tough words. Other times, the words might evade us because our guesses are just off.

I got today’s in two, but I think it was just as tricky as yesterday’s which took me all six guesses to nail down.

An Introduction to Wordle

Today’s Wordle #294 Answer & Hint

As always, there are spoilers ahead. This should go without saying, of course, but we take the better safe than sorry approach around here.

First, a hint:

It’s one way to heaven.

And the answer is . . . .

Stair!

This one was actually a little tough, even though it looks like I breezed through it with two guesses.

Spare ended up being a very lucky guess, for one thing. It got me the ‘S’ and the ‘A’ in green and the ‘R’ in yellow. (Oddly, the ‘S’ and ‘A’ are in the same spots as yesterday’s Wordle!)

That yellow ‘R’ was basically a green, however. I was 99.9999% certain it didn’t go in box #2. ‘R’ almost never follows ‘S’ (try saying that out loud—sr…) so I thought, rightly, it must come at the end of the word.

That left me with ‘S_A_R’ and here’s where the real deadlock occurred. I just wasn’t sure what on earth could go in those spaces. I had to read through all the unused letters a few times before I found the perfect—and really the only word: Stair for the win!

A stairway to heaven, you might say.

Hope your weekend is going great, dearest Wordlers. See you on the flipside!
