This Marriott Brand Is Hiring A ‘Chief Brew Officer’ For Epic ‘Beercation’

Hospitality companies are getting very creative these days to engage customers and showcase their brand offerings. Four Points by Sheraton, famous for its Best Brews program, is holding a contest where one lucky winner can take the “beercation” of a lifetime.

The honorary “chief brew officer” (CBO) will travel around the United States with a companion tasting and testing various craft beers. The journey begins at the Orlando Beer Festival this November before traveling to two other cities to sample their local beer.

What does a CBO do, you ask? At the festival in Orlando, the first job role is to pick the best brewery to receive the honorary “Four Points stamp of approval.” The next task involves traveling to two additional cities where the winner will stay at two new Four Points by Sheraton properties to sample their local craft breweries.

Four Points by Sheraton’s Best Brews program is available at its hotels around the world and focuses on locally produced craft beers on tap from that region.

The contest, available between now and Oct. 16, is open to those 21 and older. Contest participants can visit the Four Points Best Brews Contest website to enter and include a brief explanation why they are the best beer expert for the job.

“We are celebrating our newest hotels in beloved beer destinations and the lucky winner will get to travel the country while honing their beer tasting skills,” said Diane Mayer, vice president and global brand leader, classic select brands.

The winner receives round trip airfare, ground transportation, two nights at the Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive, three nights at two additional properties in participating cities (including Boston, Charlotte, Chicago and Seattle) and a Level Two Cicerone Certification training course to solidify their beer expertise.

Four Points by Sheraton is one of Marriott’s 30 global brands, and this is not the first time that the hotel company has held a contest to send a lucky winner on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Earlier this year, Marriott held a contest looking for someone to travel to all 30 of its hotel brands around the world. With the prize came a travel stipend and spending money creating the most epic global adventure.

This month, Courtyard by Marriott is offering football-themed contests this fall, including the chance to spend the night in the stadium the night before Super Bowl 2023.

For this contest, beer fans can try their luck at their own themed trip. Even if you don’t win the CBO title, there are plenty of other travel-related contests and sweepstakes where you just might prevail.
