The UK’s First Pink Kebab Is Coming, And We’re Not Ready

Premium kebab chain German Doner Kebab (GDK) have just announced they’ll be blessing the UK with its first-ever pink kebab next week.

Come Monday July 18th, patrons will be able to order a ‘Coco’ or ‘Kiki’, packed with classic doner meats and fresh salad, served in a pink, coconut-infused waffle bread.

The Coco kebab retailing for £6.99 ($8), and the smaller Kiki kebab for just £3 ($3.50).

“We’re excited to finally introduce the Coco & Kiki kebabs to our list of game-changing products and give our customers something disruptive and deliciously unexpected,” says Daniel Bunce, Global COO at German Doner Kebab.

“At GDK we are known for our expectation-defying kebabs and the new Coco & Kiki kebabs demonstrates our disruptive spirit through food, fashion and unique collaborations with some of the UK’s hottest up-and-coming music artists.”

As part of its new launch, GDK has partnered with some of Britain’s best music talent—including the likes of Tion Wayne, Stefflon Don, Ivorian Doll, and Nadia Rose—to be the faces of Coco and Kiki across social media and all advertising.

There will even be a limited-edition release of a Coco & Kiki fashion line, in collaboration with Dresscodenation, with pieces signed by the music ambassadors up for grabs in competitions across social.

Over the last few years GDK has cemented itself as a culturally enterprising brand, particularly within the country’s music scene. Collaborations with Wireless Festival, Strawberries and Creem festival, and celebrity fans such as Tion Wayne, Big Zuu and D-block Europe have all been met with great support.

In fact, it’s one of the many operations that contributed to GDK’s 100th store launch milestone this May.

If you happen to have a GDK near you (and if you don’t, this fast-expanding brand assures you probably will soon!), the Coco and Kiki kebabs will available for dine-in, takeaway at all GDK restaurants from Monday and for delivery from August.
