Meta

The long wait for cryptocurrency users is now over. Finally, Meta announced good news for the United States crypto users on Thursday. The non-fungible tokens (NFT) are going to be released on Instagram and Facebook.

The new launch of digital features on Instagram allows users to connect their digital wallets to Instagram. Besides that, anyone who has digital collectibles on Instagram can access the new feature in any country.

Users of both platforms can connect their digital wallets from Coinbase, Dapper, Metamask, and Rainbow. The supported blockchains, Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow, will be added in the future. And users can also utilize the minted digital tokens on the Flow blockchain. There is no need to pay extra charges for sharing a digital collectible on Instagram.

How Users Will Connect Their Digital Wallets To Instagram

  • Sign in to the app.
  • Go to the settings when you click on digital collectibles, you can choose your preferred wallet.
  • Click on “sign in” and confirm the wallet connection.

Now you can connect the digital wallets to the app. Besides that the user doesn’t need to pay the extra charge for sharing or posting their NFTs on Instagram or Facebook.

How the NFTs work on digital platforms like Instagram and Facebook

  1. Connect the digital wallet to the platform.
  2. Distribute the digital collectibles.
  3. Both the creator and the follower will be tagged automatically.

The new version of the apps will have the selected digital wallet on the platform. When the user posts their preferred NFT image, Instagram will add the shining effect to the NFT image. It will help to indicate the ownership of the posted asset. It also displays information about the NFT. The users who owned or created their own NFTs can be pinned next to the user images. The new feature allows users to share their preferred NFT with their followers.

As per the August 2022 report, the company stated “that users can share and display their digital collectibles as augmented reality (AR) stickers in their Insta stories.” And the company is looking into more new features for the creators and followers of the app.
