‘The Dragon Prince’ Season 4 Poster Reveals Growing Heroes And A New Threat

The Dragon Prince is one of my favorite shows on Netflix. It’s an animated fantasy series about the magical world of Xadia, where magical elves and dragons live on one half of the continent, while humans live on the other. An age-old war has kept these civilizations apart and mistrustful of one another.

Over the course of the first three seasons of the show, all that started to change, as new friendships broke down old barriers and bigotries.

But even though the first arc of this story ended in triumph, there are four more seasons to go (Netflix has renewed the entire series!) and trouble is brewing once more.

Season 4 of The Dragon Prince kicks off the second story arc, officially titled Mystery Of Aaravos, after the mysterious fallen Startouch elf who’s been manipulating events from behind the scenes.

Wonderstorm just released the official key art for the show’s fourth season. In the poster, we see the Dragon Prince himself, Zym, alongside the boy king, Ezran. They appear to be in some kind of trouble:

As you can see, it appears that our two princes are once again off on an adventure. They’ve both grown, though Zym’s grown bigger faster. I’m sure he’s still adorable, though.

Ezran, meanwhile, seems to be sporting a ponytail—much like his father, King Harrow, before him.

The pair seem to be standing on a dragon’s treasure trove, with some kind of rock dragon glaring down on them ominously. This could be the Archdragon Rex Igneous, a massive rock dragon that only emerges above ground every 100 years.

In Callum’s Spellbook (an actual book you can purchase) it’s noted that “Rex Igneous can sometimes be appeased if he is presented with extraordinary food that he has never tried before.”

There’s only one recurring food of any importance in The Dragon Prince, and only one food I imagine Ezran might have on him that he’d think to offer Rex Igneous in a pinch:

The Dragon Prince returns with its fourth season this November.

You can read all about the new season, watch some clips, and learn more about the time-jump right here.

I also have a piece about Wonderstorm’s next project, Bonders, which leaves fantasy behind and embarks on a new sci-fi adventure.
