The Biggest Songs On Twitter

For the tenth week, BTS rules over the Hot Trending Songs chart with what has turned out to be not just a big hit, but by far the most successful track to appear on the ranking of the most-discussed tunes on Twitter. “Butter” is steady at No. 1 for a tenth nonconsecutive frame, though it faced tough competition from a very familiar face.

Jung Kook’s “Stay Alive” bolts from No. 16 to the runner-up space, bringing the BTS member to a new high. Now that the tune has enjoyed a full tracking week of streaming and sales activity, it’s clear that fans continued to talk about it on Twitter, as it has now become one of the highest-ranking titles on the social-focused list.

Right behind one BTS member comes another, as Jin’s “Yours” improves from No. 7 to No. 3. Just two spaces further down, the same star’s “Super Tuna” lifts to No. 5. Both solo smashes from one of the seven musicians in the pop band hit new highs on the Hot Trending Songs chart this week.

In between Jin’s surging wins comes “Fly Away” by Kazakh performer Dimash Kudaibergen, which falls from No. 2 to No. 4. After Jin’s “Super Tuna” are two tunes that fall from where they ranked last time around, with BamBam’s “Slow Mo” slipping from No. 3 to No. 6 while Be:First’s “Gifted” declines in status from No. 4 to No. 7.

BTS’s “Permission to Dance” doesn’t just return to the Hot Trending Songs chart this week, it finds its way back to the top 10. The single that inaugurated the list last fall as the first No. 1 reappears at No. 8, proving that even after months of activity, fans still love talking about the cut. Heping the title perform as well as it does this time around is the fact that the band behind the smash recently announced concerts with the same name.

Mew Suppasit and Sam Kim’s “Before 4:30 (She Said…)” backtracks from No. 5 to No. 9 while another BTS singer, V, pushes his holiday tune “Christmas Tree” back into the top 10. This week, that cut surges from No. 15 to No. 10.
