Key Background

Ted Lasso was a major winner at the 2021 Emmys, winning Best Comedy Series and three acting categories. Hacks dominated the remaining awards. The drama category was dominated by The Crown. The 2022 awards are eligible for television programming that aired between June 1, 2021 and May 21, 2022. The Crown did not air new episodes during this time, opening up the drama category this year. Hacks and Ted Lasso did—but are largely expected to face steep competition from Abbot Elementary and Only Murders In The Building.
