SpiceDAO Founder Accused Of Posting Racist and Homophobic Comments Online

  • Charlie/Charlotte Fang, Founder of SpiceDAO is accused of posting some Racist and Homophobic comments.
  • Spice DAO bought an original Jodorowsky’s Dune book for USD$3 million and in the name of preservation of the book sold $SPICE tokens to people.
  • Fang was helping an NFT project known as Milady but after all these allegations have announced dissociation from the project.

Back in January, a group Space DAO shared via a tweet that they were proud owners of an original Jodorowsky’s Dune book. They bought one of the surviving copies for €2.66 million, approx. USD$3 million.

A Hollywood adaptation of Dune miserably failed. However, a 2013 documentary also called Jodorowsky’s Dune made it famous.

SpiceDAO tried selling $SPICE tokens to people in the name of preservation of the book. The only return excluding the speculative-driven “value” of the token itself, was the chance to vote on what happens with the book. However, they forget that they don’t have only copies, and buying a book doesn’t give you the copyrights of it.

Now, recently, Charlie/Charlotte Fang, one of the DAO’s founders, is accused of posting some disgraceful things online. Frag helps run an NFT project known as Milady

0xngmi in a Twitter thread has put most of the allegations, which mention a poster called “Miya” that compares black people to apes, calls homosexuality a “disease,” and the statement that killings of Jews can save a nation.

Further alleging, it said that “Miya” had a connection with the System space community, a group that was referred to as a “suicide cult,” vowing to a “cyberpunk afterlife,” which had connections with the death of a 17-year-old in 2017.

The thread also included the allegation that “Miya” was involved with the grooming of anorexic girls on social media.

In a series of Tweets, Fang has made the confession of him being “Miya.” Fang said that the comments were just them simply being “juvenile,” and “trolling,” and that the real intentions were never to spread hate. However, Fang has announced their disassociation from the Milady NFT project. Although, their position in the Dune group remains unclear.

As per the data from Coinbase, at the time of writing the price of Spice DAO currency was recorded to be approx. 0.000139.
