SC to Expand Business Banking and Digital Strategy with New Global Heads

Standard Chartered (SC) announced the expansion of its team with the appointments of Xie Wen and Mohamed Keraine today. SC has appointed Wen as Global Head of Business Banking. Keraine has been appointed as Global Head of Digital for the bank’s Consumer, Private and Business Banking (CPBB) business.

Standard Chartered mentioned that the newly appointed global heads will report to Judy Hsu, the CEO of CPBB. In her new role, Wen will be responsible for the expansion of SC’s Business Banking through a wide range of collaborations. Wen’s new role will be effective from 1 April 2022.

Keraine will join the bank from ING. In his new role, the newly appointed Global Head of Digital at Standard Chartered will drive the bank’s digital agenda. According to SC, Keraine will join the bank on 28 March 2022, he will be based in Singapore.

“In 2018, he (Keraine ) was appointed Head of Retail Development Asia at ING where he leveraged his experience from Europe and built extensive industry knowledge in digital banking through launching the first digital bank in the Philippines and leading several strategic initiatives in Southeast Asia and China,” Standard Chartered highlighted.

Judy Hsu, the CEO of Standard Chartered’s Consumer, Private and Business Banking, said that the new appointments will facilitate SC’s digital agenda. Additionally, the bank is planning to take advantage of the extensive experience of Wen and Keraine to accelerate its expansion.

“As we increasingly shift how we service our clients to digital channels and scale Business Banking by acquiring SME clients digitally through partnerships, the deep expertise and extensive experiences of Mohamed and Xie Wen will be invaluable to Standard Chartered.
