Rolls-Royce’s New Electric Spectre Already Has More Than 300 Buyers — See The Photos

Topline

More than 300 American customers placed orders for Rolls-Royce’s new Spectre, the luxury brand’s first electric vehicle, before the car was displayed to the public on Tuesday, according to CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos

Key Facts

Muller-Otvos told CNBC that over the past two weeks a select group of customers traveled to Rolls-Royce’s headquarters in Goodwood, England, for an early look at the new coupe, though he noted some put down deposits before seeing the car in person.

The Spectre is the most expensive electric coupe on the market with a starting price of $413,000, though the figure can climb dramatically based on add-ons Rolls-Royce offers.

While the company has more testing and optimization to do before the Spectre launches on the market next year, preliminary data shows the two-door coupe can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than five seconds and has an all-electric range of about 320 miles. The first orders will be delivered in late 2023, Rolls-Royce said.

Key Background

While the Spectre is the company’s first electric vehicle, Rolls-Royce plans for the entire fleet to be fully electric by 2030. In 2021, Rolls-Royce had a record year in terms of sales and production and sold 5,586 cars, a 49% increase compared to the previous year, the company said in January.
