Parcel Announces $4 Million Seed Round Led by Framework Ventures

On June 7, Parcel announced that it had conducted a $4 million seed round with some of the esteemed investors from DeFi and TradFi. The round was led by Framework Ventures and was joined by prominent figures like Sebastian Borget, Santiago Santos, Aaron Wong, and several others. This round is hoped to help the project move closer to its dream of empowering metaverse real estate.

The Parcel is a one-of-a-kind platform launched to create a one-stop space for all the needs regarding virtual real estate. Unlike other NFT marketplaces, Parcel is tailor-made exclusively for providing the necessary tools for creating, building, etc., on these digital terrains.

Since its launch in 2021, the platform has made strides into some major metaverse projects across the crypto ecosystem. It aggregates real-estate listings from Ethereum-based metaverses like The Sandbox, NFT Worlds, Decentraland, Somnium Space, Voxels, and Mona. The project hopes to bring a market for us substantial demand for these digital landscapes among users.

Recently, the Parcel team has conducted a seed round that successfully accumulated $4 million in investment from various VC firms and individuals. Along with Framework Ventures, other participants like Fifth Wall, Blizzard Fund, AVIV Group, Stake Capital, AppWorks, InterVest, Contents Technologies, Serafund, Sky9 Capital, and Great Oaks Venture Capital have also contributed to the round.

Surprisingly, the round saw a line of angel investors from leading DeFi and TradFi firms. The list includes Sebastien Borget from The Sandbox, Aaron Wong from SoftBank, Kieran Warwick from Illuvium, Santiago Santos, and Batuhan Dasgin, former Head of Business Development at CoinMarketCap.

The funds from this recent round will reportedly be used for developing the products from Parcel. It includes the creation of a Creatorverse for virtual real estate. This idea will create a platform where landowners can easily connect with digital architects and creators and explore their portfolios to find what they are looking for. It will be a one-stop destination for the owners to find all the services they need regarding their digital landscapes.

And what’s more, Parcel has long been in plans for offering multi-chain support on Avalanche and Polygon. The funds are likely to speed up the plan and get them on board these two chains possibly by the end of the year. The Parcel also hopes to fortify its Learn Program with the new seed round. This initiative was taken to educate more pros about the benefits of web3 to get them along in their exciting journey.

The virtual landscapes have become one of the captive aspects of the metaverse projects that can be used for various purposes, from marketing to entertainment. So the startup is likely to get more investors on board in subsequent seed rounds.
