Nike Metaverse Sneakers CryptoKicks Getting Sold For $8K

High Performing CryptoKicks

Whether you believe in metaverse or not (well pessimist opinion doesn’t count anyways), some of the organizations are optimistic regarding the fact that it is the future (which it is). Nike is among those prominent organizations.

Previous December, athletic wear organization took over RTFKT, a digital sneaker designer, hoping to plant its presence squarely in the metaverse. That acquisition is throwing back the checks in return.

Over the weekend, Nike and RTFKT dropped Dunk Genesis CryptoKicks, an NFT collection consisting of 20,000 digital sneakers.

Since the release of virtual sneakers, crypto punters have rushed towards them to get their hands on pieces, paying between $7,500 to $9,000. Their appearance can be transformed via virtual vials, which themselves cost $2,500 or around 0.8 ETH.

Some vials are more common in contrast to others, and CryptoKicks sporting the rare skin have gone for huge sums. A pair, for example, got sold for 45 ETH ($133,000). An alien vial got sold for 150 ETH ($449,000). RTFKT states that holders can perform specific digital quests for “evolving” their skins.

Tangible Versions Of CryptoKicks For Users?

As of now, there are no strategies to offer physical versions of CryptoKicks to their holders, though a Snapchat filter was made for owners, so that they can sport digital sneakers in AR. It is an element of greater bet on digital fashion, a gamble token by more than just Nike.

Back in December, Adidas launched its “Into The Metaverse” collectibles of 30,000 NFTs in collaboration with BAYC to do so. NFT ownership pledges drops of both physical and digital clothing, a tactic used by D&G. Gucci chose a distinct path, joining forces with blue-chip NFT collectibles to put their clothes on Bored Apes, Pudgy Penguins and World of Women avatars.

Adidas and Nike are rapidly taking their rivalry into the metaverse: Adidas has taken over land in the Sandbox, while Nike has made investment in Roblox.
