NCT Dream Scores The Third-Largest Sales Week Ever In Korea

NCT, one of the most successful boy bands in South Korean history, has proven their immense popularity time and time again. In addition to that group doing well, several sub-units featuring some members of the main outfit have also achieved significant success in the nation. One such act is NCT Dream, which has recently landed another remarkable feat with their new album, ISTJ.

This week, NCT Dream’s latest album ISTJ debuts atop the weekly Hanteo chart, one of the two most important music charts in South Korea. ISTJ’s arrival at No. 1 is due to the fact that it sold 3,652,897 copies in just its first week of availability in the country. This enormous figure not only secures the album the chart’s throne, but also etches the band’s name in the history books, as they have now claimed the title of the third-largest sales week ever in South Korea.

Topping the list of the largest sales weeks in South Korea is Stray Kids’s 5-Star, which sold an impressive 4.61 million copies in a single tracking week only a few months ago. Following closely in second place is Seventeen’s FML, released earlier this year, with 4.55 million copies sold in its debut frame on the chart.

NCT Dream’s ISTJ outpaces the nearest competitor this week, NewJeans’s Get Up, by almost three times. The girl group’s EP performed admirably, selling 1.2 million copies as it arrived, but it couldn’t compete with the NCT sub-unit.

ISTJ’s remarkable success on the Hanteo Chart marks yet another No. 1 for NCT Dream. The band has frequently hit the top spot on this prestigious chart, and they’re only getting bigger and bigger. Other NCT sub-units, such as NCT 127, have also achieved notable success on the Hanteo charts, underlining the incredible popularity of the NCT umbrella as a whole.
