NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 Bracket, Scores, Results, Schedule, Odds For Today’s Games

March Madness picks back up tonight with the first set of Sweet 16 matchups featuring some of the top teams in the 2022 NCAA Tournament field.

The Big Dance is returning after a much-needed four-day hiatus following an action-packed start to the tourney. The first week saw several Cinderella’s survive and advance through it, setting up four more thrilling days of college basketball action leading up to the Final Four.

It shouldn’t come as a shock that there wasn’t a single perfect bracket remaining by the end of the first round. With so many games being decided in overtime and double-digit seeds pulling massive upsets, it only took until Friday night for the dream of an unblemished bracket to get delayed another year.

You can see how the updated 2022 NCAA Tournament bracket looks ahead of the Sweet 16 below:

Updated March Madness Bracket

Nearly every bracket was busted on the first day when No. 15 seed Saint Peter’s pulled off the upset of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

The Peacocks bested No. 2 Kentucky in the Round of 64 before going on to topple Murray State in the second round. They are poised to meet with another powerhouse when they play No. 3 Purdue on Friday.

While Saint Peter’s is the highest seed to reach the Sweet 16 this year, three other double-digit seeds also made it to the second week of March Madness.

  • No. 10 Miami (-2.5) vs. No. 11 Iowa State: 9:59 pm ET (TBS)

No. 11 Michigan showed why it was a popular preseason pickto make a Final Four run with back-to-back wins over Colorado State and Tennessee. The Wolverines have now made a Sweet 16 run in each of the last four NCAA Tournaments. They’ll need to get past a feisty No. 2-seeded Villanova squad to reach the Elite Eight for the second time since 2018.

Iowa State also reached the Sweet 16 as a No. 11 seed this year. The Cyclones haven’t made it this far since 2016, head coach Steve Prohm’s first year on the job. The program is now seeking its first Elite Eight appearance since the 2000 NCAA Tournament, but will have to overcome another Cinderella squad to get there.

Miami is the final double-digit seed in the Sweet 16, battling past a plucky USC foe and obliterating No. 2-seeded Auburn to get here. The Hurricanes hadn’t made an NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018 and haven’t reached the Sweet 16 since 2016 but are now favored to beat the Cyclones in one of this year’s most unexpected March Madness meetings.

North Carolina also had an arduous road to the 2022 NCAA Tournament’s second week. The No. 8 Tar Heels looked sharp in their opener against Marquette and then ousted Baylor—the defending national champions—in the Round of 32. UNC must get through UCLA, another reigning Final Four squad, to secure the school’s first Elite Eight berth since winning it all in 2017.
