Modern Warfare 2’ Multiplayer Map At Launch

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II is almost upon us. We’ve had access to the excellent single-player campaign for a week of Early Access, but Multiplayer and co-op Special Ops launch in mere hours.

Here’s the exact time Multiplayer launches for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

While we won’t have the much-anticipated DMZ mode until Warzone 2.0 launches in November, and Raids don’t drop until Season 1 Reloaded releases in December, there will be a bunch of content to dive into at launch.

This includes ten 6v6 maps and five large-scale Battle maps.

6v6 Maps

  • Al Bagra Fortress
  • Breenbergh Hotel
  • Mercado Las Almas
  • Crown Raceway
  • Santa Seña Border Crossing
  • Farm 18
  • El Asilo
  • Embassy
  • Taraq
  • Zarqwa Hydroelectric

Battle Maps

  • Al Bagra Fortress
  • Santa Seña
  • Sariff Bay
  • Sa’id
  • Zarqwa Hydroelectric

You’ll notice the Valderas Museum map from the beta is not in this list. It appears that it has been removed from the launch lineup, though it’s unclear why or when it will return.

Along with all these maps, there are a number of new and classic Multiplayer Modes coming to Modern Warfare II at launch.

6v6 Game Modes

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Free for All
  • Domination
  • Search and Destroy
  • Headquarters
  • Prisoner Rescue
  • Hardpoint
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Control
  • Knockout

Big Team Modes

There will also be Third-Person Mode at launch, which gives the game a totally different feel. It’s not for everyone, but it’s cool to have the option for the first time in Call Of Duty.

The two new modes—Prisoner Rescue and Knockout—are both cool new additions to the game. I especially like Prisoner Rescue which involves either rescuing or defending two prisoners. Knockout requires you to carry a ball to score points. When you’re downed in either of these modes you stay down until a teammate revives you or the round is over.

Along with all these maps and modes, players will have access to a ton of different weapons, tactical and lethal equipment and perks.

The Item Shop will be mostly empty until the start of Season 1 in November, but you can purchase the Call of Duty Endowment Protector Pack, with proceeds going to veterans.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II launches on October 27th/28th on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Battle.net and Steam.
