Modern Warfare 2’ And ‘Warzone 2’ Season 2 Is Live — Here’s Everything New

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 finally got a massive content drop today after weeks of basically nothing new. Season 1 has wrapped and Season 2 is kicking off Wednesday morning with plenty of new content to keep players busy.

In Warzone 2, the biggest new addition is the arrival of Ashika Island, a brand new small map dedicated to Resurgence mode. The new map is Japanese-themed and built around the classic Call Of Duty map, Castle.

In Modern Warfare II, players are getting the Museum map that was supposed to arrive at launch as well as the classic Dome map. Several new modes, including Gun Game and Infected land in Season 2, as well as five new weapons including the Crossbow.

There’s also a brand new Battle Pass to drop your hard-earned cash on:

Here’s the Season 2 trailer showing off Ashika Island in action as well as the other new content that lands in the game(s) today:

On top of everything listed above, players can look forward to:

  • Ranked Play (replacing CDL Moshpit)
  • Hardcore Mode (replacing Tier 1)
  • Jet Skis
  • 2 New Battle Maps (large game modes)
  • A dog-tag mechanic in Resurgence that rewards you for returning to your place of death
  • In-season updates not listed in the roadmap (below)
  • An in-season release of an awesome-looking mystery 6v6 map
  • A plethora of balancing changes and bug fixes
  • Improvements to the menus including social and camo menus

Here’s the full roadmap (minus surprises):

Gunfight is also coming to Modern Warfare II, though not until Season 3.

It’s a lot, though it would be nice to have more new maps and not ones we’ve already played in other games or this one’s beta. I’m thrilled by Ashika Island, however, so I won’t gripe. See you on the battlefield! I’m off to play right now.
