Meta’s Horizon World Criticized for Average Metaverse Graphics

Metaverse

Renowned metaverse game from social media giant Meta, Horizon Worlds is talk of the town. This week, the game launched in Spain and Paris, but people started to condemn the game. The reason was said to be the bad graphics quality inside the game. The issue with the metaverse game is crucial for Meta given its one of the highly anticipated projects of the company.

Many said that the video games graphics replicates the graphics quality as if it’s from the early 2000s. For instance, people picked up a visual from inside the game featuring a digital avatar of Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta. In the screenshot, Zuckerberg can be seen with a virtual Eiffel Tower in the background. People consider this similar to the Sagarada Familia in Barcelona.

Horizon Worlds is the metaverse game operable through the Oculus headset device of Meta. In December, 2021, beta version of the game was launched and owners of the VR devices across the United States and Canada. Later the game was permissible for every other individual of age 18 years and more. As per the reports, till February, 2022, there were approx 300,000 monthly users on the metaverse game.

A Hacker News reporter blamed the Oculus VR headset for all the criticism around the graphics. He said that the 400 USD worth device is the main reason for all the chaos. Oculus has certain limits in terms of its processing power and so it is confined to provide the graphics as per its capacity. In comparison to PlayStation 5, the VR device is unable to produce the similar complex graphics.

Graphics quality is not the only issue with the metaverse game. Several people have also criticized the avatars inside the game without lower body.

Meta CEO responded to all the fuss around Horizon Worlds. He said the major updates on the game regarding the graphics are down the road, despite the limited capability of the headset device.
