Marvel Brings Real-World Infinity Stones Worth Over $25 Million To San Diego Comic-Con

Somebody call the Avengers!

Marvel is sure to start another galaxy-spanning Infinity War with a collection of real-world Infinity Stones worth over $25 million in value. They don’t hold any supernatural abilities, but they do cost a pretty penny. Unless you’re Jeff Bezos or a big purple alien looking to erase half of all life in the known universe, these items are probably out of your price range. Not that they’re up for sale, of course.

The company revealed the precious gems (curated by East Continental Gems) at San Diego Comic-Con Friday, displaying them in a customized Gentle Giant Ltd. gauntlet worthy of the Mad Titan himself. Daymond John — Founder, President, and CEO of FUBU, as well as an investor on ABC’s Shark Tank — was on hand for the event. Darren Romanelli (aka DRx, a Los Angeles-based creative) serves as the collection’s lead Creative Director.

“Fans and collectors are a very important consumer for Marvel, since they truly live the Marvel lifestyle every day and are always seeking to connect with the brand in new and unique ways. We feel this authentic gemstone collection is cool and unexpected and extends the reach of the Marvel brand,” Paul Gitter, SVP, Marvel Consumer Products, said in a statement.

Representing different forces of the universe, the Infinity Stones grant unlimited power to the one who brings them all together. They served as the central MacGuffin in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) — both of which are two of the highest-grossing films in box office history.

The breakdown of Marvel’s actualized cosmic bling is as follows: Time Stone (Colombian emerald, nearing 23-carats), Space Stone (a sapphire from the island of Madagascar, 30-carats), Reality Stone (an oval-shaped ruby from Mozambique, Africa, over 15-carats), Power Stone (an oval-shaped, natural amethyst, more than 35-carats), Soul Stone (cushion-shaped, Spessartite, exceeding 35-carats), and Mind Stone (high clarity, intense color rectangular brilliant cut yellow diamond, close to 35-carats).

“There has never been anything as exciting and interesting in the Marvel Universe than the prized Infinity Stones and as a fourth-generation jeweler and fan, I am honored that Marvel entrusted us with the monumental task of curating the Infinity Gem Collection for our universe,” added Adam Mirzoeff, President of East Continental Gems, in a statement of his own.

Fans can get in on the action this September with a limited-edition Reality Stone from East Continental Gems. The price is still uknown, though the it has been confirmed that the item is part of a larger collection set to be announced at a later date.

Infinity War and Endgame are currently available to stream on Disney+.
