Madonna, the significant pop star, has recently joined the listicle of celebrities owning a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) from the Bored Ape Yacht Club project.
She recently highlighted this via an Instagram post, which said that she finally entered the metaverse. She wrote with the post of the Bored Ape NFT saying her very own Ape. Asking over 17 Million followers what she should name her. She further Tweeted the announcement.

Her Ape is by the token ID 4988, which is a cartoon funky fur monkey with an S&M hat. In the post, she also thanked MoonPay. The NFT piece is also her Twitter Profile Picture now.
MoonPay is a crypto payments platform that facilitates celebrities with purchasing big-ticket NFTs on behalf of them since last year.
According to one of the largest NFT marketplace OpenSea, MoonPay procured Madonna’s Bored Ape NFT last week for 180 ETH. After which, the company sent the NFT piece to a wallet apparently owned by the pop star.
The American singer now becomes a BAYC owner among others, for instance, Justin Bieber, who purchased his first Ape for about $1.3 million, and Eminem, who also spent a significant amount on a BAYC NFT purchase earlier this year.
BAYC was launched in April last year and gained massive popularity in a short time. The 10,000 unique BAYC have a market capitalization of about $3 billion. The Bored Ape NFTs are pretty popular among celebrities. And some of the prominent ones associated with it include Jimmy Fallon, Adidas, Shaquille O’Neal, Gwyneth Paltrow, etc.
The NFT project is constantly gaining popularity and is growing by leaps and bounds. Recently its creators, Yuga Labs, have launched ApeCoin (APE), a native token to the BAYC project. They also Tweeted a trailer that somewhat reflected some plans regarding a Metaverse of Bored Ape YC.
