Acala Operable on Polkadot Now

At the beginning of this week, Acala made an announcement that it had released its network, focused on DeFi, on Polkadot network, with its indigenous currency, ACA, now live for trading.

People should keep in mind that Acala initially won a parachain auction with its Karura parachain, securing itself a place on the ecosystem of Polkadot, handling more than $1.3 Billion worth of DOT tokens, assisted by over 81,000 willing supporters across the world.

As per Acala’s roadmap, a complete network release will be conducted in various stages, with the initial one allowing clients to transfer or receive ACA and take part in the governance of this project.

Acala has released more than $600 Million in Total Value Locked in LCDOT tokens and has over 200,000 distinct token holders worldwide.

Acala is supported by some prominent players in the industry, involving TQ, Goldentree, CoinFund, ParaFi, DCG, Pantera, Polychain, Arrington, Coinbase ventures, and more.

Commenting on yesterday’s release, Dan Reecer, Chief Growth Officer of Acala, stated that Acala is developing toward Hybrid Finance or HiFi, filling the gaps among Web2 fintech worlds and neobanks with decentralized finance to bring improvement in monetary and yield outcomes to non-cryptocurrency users, without them having to reach any complicated digital asset technology such as private keys or MetaMask.

Some weeks ago, Moonbeam, the second parachain auction conqueror, was released on Polkadot network, becoming the initial completely functional parachain on the network.

We have to wait until these key products are unveiled completely by Acala and become usable.

As this article was written, Polkadot’s DOT was bearish by 0.36%, trading at a market price of $17.75 in the previous 24 hours.
